Primers - Lactococcal bacteriophage MLST Databases

Genes

The MLST scheme for the lactococcal phages of the 936-group uses internal fragments of the following five house-keeping genes:

PCR Amplification

Amplification primers were designed by M. Moisan at the Département de biochimie, de microbiologie et de bio-informatique, Université Laval, Québec, Canada.

The primer pairs we use for the PCR amplification of internal fragments of these genes are:

terL-F 5-GATGATTTTAGGCGGACAAT-3
terL-R 5-AGAACTTATTCTGTAACGCTG-3
mcp-F 5-GCAAAACTTGCTGAAAATGG-3
mcp-R 5-CTCATCTAACAAGGCTTTACG-3
mtp-F 5-TARCTGGTTTAGTATCRGTTGG-3
mtp-R 5-ACTGAWTCTGTTTCTGATTCTT-3
tmp-F 5-AAYTTACAAACGCAGTTGG-3
tmp-R 5-CAAAYGCTTGGTTAGCTTTTA-3
lys-F 5-AACAAACGGAGGATAAAAAAG-3
lys-R 5-AGTTCTGYRATAAARTATGAGC-3

Sequencing

We use the same primer pairs for sequencing.
