BIGSdb administrator's guide

Most database configuration, such as defining new loci or schemes can be done through the web interface, as described below. Configuration settings that affect the database structure, such as setting isolate provenance or sample management fields, or authentication mechanisms, are defined in the XML configuration file for each database. See the installation and configuration guide for details of these.

Details

The BIGSdb software is written in Perl, also utilizing some client-side Javascript. It runs on Linux using the Apache web server and PostgreSQL database.

BIGSdb is open-source software, published under the GNU General Public Licence version 3.
